Meet Maureen! Maureen brings a unique perspective with a trauma informed
approach, over 2 decades a Registered Nurse, a Cognitive Behavioral
approach to change and extensive educational trainings. With additional
training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, EMDR, Mindfulness,
Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, perinatal mental health, diet culture
& emotional eating, and adolescents, her counselling is rooted in evidence-
based practice. Maureen holds a master’s in counseling psychology (MACP)
and is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), maintains her R.N. through the
Canadian Association of Registered Nurses, as well as is certified as an
IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).
In Maureen’s view, the therapeutic relationship should be authentic, safe, and
supportive of change. She believes that the connection between therapist and
client is the cornerstone of the counseling journey. Maureen feels honored to
share in her clients’ experiences—offering hope, understanding, and
encouragement through challenges and triumphs. She focuses on nurturing
individuals’ resilience and strengths, firmly believing in their ability to heal.
Together, she aims to challenge conventional views of “normal,” labels,
